Sensational hard rock artists Foreigner and Whitesnake are bringing their signature sounds to the PNC Bank Arts Center!
Foreigner is a British-American rock band, originally formed in New York City in 1976 by veteran English musician Mick Jones and fellow Briton Ian McDonald (former member of English rock band King Crimson) along with American vocalist Lou Gramm. The band’s been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Mick Jones (lead guitar, keyboards, bass guitar, and vocals), Thom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, saxophone, flute, keyboards, and vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass guitar and vocals), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals and percussion), Michael Bluestein (keyboards and vocals), and Chris Frazier (drums). Their musical style is best described as a blend of hard rock (a loosely defined subgenre of rock music featuring heavy use of aggressive vocals, distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and often accompanied with pianos and keyboards), power pop (a style that draws its inspiration from 1960s British and American rock music and typically incorporates a combination of musical devices such as strong melodies, clear vocals and crisp vocal harmonies, economical arrangements, and prominent guitar riffs), and soft rock (soft rock (a subgenre of pop music that largely features acoustic guitars and slow to mid tempos). They’ve had a stellar career with 9 studio albums, 5 live albums, 13 compilation albums, 39 singles, and they’ve sold more than 80 million records worldwide.
